From Cologne - Düsseldorf - Liège:
Motorway A4 (E40), at Aachener Kreuz continue on the A 544, exit Europaplatz (end of the motorway), direction city centre
From the Netherlands:
A4 motorway (E40), exit Aachen Zentrum, turn right towards Zentrum
An environmental zone was introduced in Aachen on 1 February 2016.
Only vehicles with a green sticker or a special permit are allowed to enter the low emission zone.
The boundary of the low emission zone is largely orientated around Aachen's outer ring road and includes all roads within this area. The map (pdf) available via the following link provides an overview.
